The haldi ceremony is a traditional pre-wedding ceremony in Indian weddings. The family and friends come together on this auspicious occasion to apply turmeric paste (haldi) on the bride and groom's face and body. The paste is believed to ward off evil, help the couple's skin glow before the big day and bless them with good luck. The haldi is an opportunity for family and friends to offer a well-wishes and blessings to the couple before they get married! 

The shaadi is the actual Hindu wedding ceremony where Simran and Chris will be married by a pandit (Hindu priest) in front of all their friends and family. The priest will recite a few prayers over a small fire while the couple will complete their vows by circling the fire seven times

The Sangeet will be held directly after the Shaadi and signifies the coming together of both families. We will be hosting a dinner for everyone to celebrate the occasion, and traditionally during the sangeet, loved ones perform dances to congratulate the couple.
